Happy Holidays from the Team at Kelln Solar!

We are taking the week off to be with our family, and celebrate the season, and our office will be closed from December 22nd at 1:00 pm until January 2nd at 8:00 am.

We realize you may require support at this time, and we enourage you to contact your local dealer.  The biggest issue at this time of year is often lack of sufficent battery voltage to operate the system.

When deep cycle batteries are constantly drained to a low voltage, they are damaged, for this reason our controllers have a Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD).  The controller will disconnect from the pump at 11.4-11.9V, and will only reconnect again around 12.6V.

Please note that these voltages need to be read with the solar panels unplugged from the system.  If your controller has gone into LVD, you will need to charge up your batteries with a battery charger (12h each).

In an emergency where you need water, but you are currently in LVD, an automotive battery can be utilized to boost the system.  Simply boost the battery bank in the same way you would another vehicle.  This will take the system out of LVD and return your supply of water.

WINTER WATER SYSTEMS

If battery voltage is sufficient, you may have an issue with your motion eye (for our winter watering system).

if you are having trouble getting the pump to turn on, bypass the motion eye by plugging the wires together at the Control Card.  If this turns the pump on, then your motion eye has failed – contact your local Kelln Solar Dealer, or send us an email directly at info@kellnsolar.com

If your motion eye will not stop running when triggered, reset the motion eye by turning the unit off for 15 seconds, then back on to resume normal operation.

If there is sufficeint voltage, and bypassing the eye does not work, you may have a problem with the pump.  Please contact us on January 2nd, and we will furhter diagnose, as work to get waterto your animals.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
